Green Bolt
This was a drawing I did a long time ago but decided to paint it. I used Painter 11 mainly with some Photoshop. I had been working on it for a long time and unless I publish now I'm never going to finish it. Since I'm constantly learning it's hard to consider a painting as "finished" because you know if you can hold off until you learn something new you can make it look better. Alas, here it is. Don't really have a name for it. In my deviant art page I called it "green bolt" describing the energy field she's creating in her right hand. Let's go with that.

Jason Seiler Caricature
This was for a contest on https://www.schoolism.com/ in which the winner would win an autographed caricature from Jason Seiler. For those of you who don't know who Jason Seiler is an amazing artist famous for his caricatures. His blog can be found http://www.jasonseilerillustration.blogspot.com/ I wasn't too happy with the way it came out but I found out about the contest the day before it was due. I would have liked to have spent more time on it but I liked the practice and helps to speed up aswell. I'd like to do concept work for video games and /or movies so this was a good exercise.
Invincible and Superman
This is a piece that started off as Invincible flying in a cloudy early evening sky with a city and ocean background. I love seeing sky scenes but hardly ever do them because the clouds and different shades of blue (depending of area in sky and time of day) can be very intimidating. I decided to do it and here it is. Somewhere along the road I saw WAY too much blue so I added Superman hoping to make it a little more interesting. I also kept the characters somewhat small because I was really interested in the background. I wanted the sky to be an important part of the piece, not just something to put behind 2 flying characters.
1st posting starring Ryu
There's another blog where I was posting my artwork along with 2 other artists,( http://www.humpdae.blogspot.com/) but I decided to go off on my own. Hopefully this will motivate me to create and post art more often than I currently do. For all of my artwork you may visit http://darkcomartist.deviantart.com/ since putting up the same pieces may just be redundant so I'll put up pieces that are current. For example, I won't put up political cartoons of Richard Nixon as they would no longer be relevant. Actually I may not even put up any political cartoons because I'm not that into them. I'm a comic book artist currently trying to make the switch from that to illustrator. I use Corel Painter 11 about %99.9999 of the time, the rest of the time I get drunk and yell at the tv incoherently during "perfect hair" informercials. In between those two I also use Photoshop CS4 but it's not a program I've learned to use as well as Painter. I love the fact that painter reacts very much like traditional tools. I know Photoshop can give you the same results if used properly but I haven't spent the time to learn it yet. The other main feature I love about painter is the ability to rotate the canvas at will. For doing the preliminary sketch it is an amazing tool. I'm using a wacom table. If I had a Cintiq this wouldn't be a problem with Photoshop but alas, I can't afford the bloody thing without selling off my internal organs, and I already promised them to a guy on ebay in exchange for a Superman pez dispenser. Anyhow, here is my 1st piece for the blog. Ryu from Street Fighter 4.
